8bita is a service website created for the sole purpose of improving private education in Taiwan, through ratings and reviews of Bushiban’s etc. This will hopefully make shopping for the right school of quality much easier for all.
8bita was started as an idea between teachers, students and parents during a discussion between friends. During this discussion we realized that there was no centralized and organized place to access information when deciding private education and that there was virtually no transparency in regards to the quality and standard of institutions, or a set system to what the quality and standard of learning should be. We hope to rectify this problem by allowing everyone as a whole to decide what where this standard should fall though this website.
From the student’s point of view: We know that education is important and the way the teaching is done has an immense impact on the way we learn. When we are going to class we want to look forward to it; not dread the class. What we noticed is how the teacher and curriculum has a very large impact on our learning such as the curriculum being to fast or slow, and the teacher explaining things in an organized manner or not. We know we can’t see if the environment is right for us until we have actually gone to class or get the input of our classmates that have gone before.
From the parents point of view: We noted that we virtually had no idea on what our children were receiving educationally until after we had paid and sent our children to an institution for a semester. There was no way we could account for the teachers, actual curriculum, and learning environment until after the fact. The only way we could get some measure of a learning institution was through calling family friends, reading private blogs online or going door to door to each institution and getting a tour. All of which didn’t give a complete picture to what we were paying for or what type of education our children were going to receive. So, we hope that this place will give all parents the necessary tools they need to make the best decision for their children.
From the teacher’s point of view: We noticed that there was very little accountability when we applied to jobs. We had all heard about horror stories where companies were not paying their employees, breaking the law, and abusing teachers as well as students to try to make an extra buck; only until after we started teaching for sometime could we actually get a real representation of what the school and management were truly like. Also, after talking to new teachers, we realized that many had no idea what their new teaching environment was going to be like. So, we realized this would be a great way for us to help all of them.

從學生的觀點：我們知道，教育是重要的教學方式，有一個對我們的學習方式的巨大影響。教學方式，我們要期待它不害怕教學方式。我們注意到的是教師和課程我們是快或慢的課程，如學習上有非常大的影響，老師在一個有組織的方式或不解釋事情。我們知道，我們不能看到如果環境對我們來說是正確的，就只能直到我們實際上已經去上課，或讓我們的同學輸入所了解。
從家長的角度來看：我們注意到，我們幾乎沒有什麼辦法了解一家教育機構，我們支付費用並讓我們的孩子接受教育後，由我們的孩子一個學期的機構的想法去了解。有沒有辦法，我們可以解釋為教師，實際的課程和學習環境，直到事後。只有這樣，我們可以得到一些一個學習機構的措施是通過家人朋友打電話，在線閱讀私人博客或挨家挨戶到每個機構的門，旅遊。所有這一切都沒有給出一個完整的畫面，我們付出什麼類型的教育我們的孩子們要接受。因此，我們希望這個地方會給所有家長必要的工具，他們需要做出最好的決定，為自己的孩子。
從老師的觀點：我們注意到，有很少的問責制時，我們的工作。我們都聽說了，公司不支付其僱員的恐怖故事，違法，濫用教師以及學生設法使一個額外的打壓，只有等到我們開始了一段時間的教學後，我們可以得到一個真正的表示什麼真正喜歡的學校和管理。此外，新入職教師交談後，我們意識到，許多人不知道他們新的教學環境，要像什麼。所以，我們意識到這將是一個偉大的方式，對我們幫助他們。
